I / THE ARTIST BEHIND THE METHOD

On the record.
On the stage.
In your corner.

I’m Ray Garrison. An artist, singer, songwriter, producer, and mixer. I’ve spent 20 years learning how to take an idea and turn it into something people feel.

I front Silos, signed to Judge & Jury Records. Before that, I spent years producing and DJing as PHYNX. My work crosses heavy guitars, festival-sized electronics, trap drums, rap vocals, and pop hooks.

I’ve learned through making records and working alongside exceptional people—including Howard Benson. Broken Hertz is where I pass that experience on: the choices, the listening skills, and the process behind the finished sound.

PRODUCTION & VOCALS

Howard Benson

Silos’ self-produced sound meets Benson’s vocal production. Working alongside him has been part of Ray’s education in what makes a performance connect.

RECORD-MAKING

Mike Plotnikoff

The Silos label bio documents recording at West Valley with Plotnikoff as engineer and mixer—a real studio context behind the records.

WRITING & COLLABORATION

Gavin Brown

Ray co-wrote and co-produced Silos’ “Mad Love” with Brown, bringing another perspective into his songwriting and production practice.

Collaborator credits describe Ray’s experience, not endorsements of this program.

III / THE TRACK RECORD

Different worlds.
The same instinct.

Find the emotion. Make the hook count. Build a sound with the impact to stand beside commercial releases.

ROCK / ELECTRONIC · SILOS

APOCALIPS

Artist, vocalist & producer

Ray’s own band brings heavy guitars and electronic production into one sound. Silos is the living expression of the approach he teaches.

“IF I FALL!” features Danny Case of From Ashes to New. “Black Mold” features Craig Mabbitt of Escape the Fate. Real songs, made together.

Silos’ hit single “IF I FALL!” received 2.3M+ YouTube views and earned SiriusXM Octane summer rotation.

ON THE ROAD / IN THE STUDIO

Three Days Grace

Touring & making music

Ray toured with Three Days Grace in 2025 and has made music with the band, including production work on “Criminal Mind” featuring Finger Eleven.

That experience connects studio decisions with what a song needs to do in front of an audience.

PROGRAMMING / SONIC DETAIL

STARSET
Alien Ant Farm

Programming contributions

The electronic layers, textures, and details behind a bigger record. Ray’s programming work extends beyond his own releases to STARSET and Alien Ant Farm.

It’s the same attention to sound design he brings into teaching and production sessions.

BEYOND ONE SCENE

Seeb, Brennan Savage & Orgy also appear in Ray’s Studio instructor bio. His experience spans electronic collaborations, hip-hop sessions, rock records, and his own work as a frontman.

IV / FROM WORKING WITH HITMAKERS TO WORKING WITH YOU

The formulas I’ve learned.
The sound that’s yours.

“I can teach you the patterns and decisions I’ve learned from making records with people who do this at the highest level—then help you apply them to your own music.”

01

Write for impact

Chords, melodies, hooks, and arrangements that give the listener a reason to stay. Make each section serve the song.

02

Produce with intention

Sound selection, live instruments, synths, samples, vocal direction, editing, and tuning—chosen for your music, not a preset formula.

03

Learn to finish

Hear what needs to change, make deliberate mix decisions, and stop endlessly revising. Apply the lessons to your next record, too.

Ray already teaches a start-to-finish production class covering writing, recording, vocals, electronic programming, mixing, and mastering. One-on-one work brings that explanation into the decisions your own song needs.
